Snow Days

It has been a long, difficult year but there seems to be a light shining in the future. Could be the sun shining off the 20 inches of snow we received the last two days. So thankful for all my wonderful neighbors. Yes, it is my snowblower but I didn't have to run it and they even shoveled.

Life goes on regardless of tragedy in our lives. We have so much to be thankful for but sometimes grief just shows up at the weirdest times and places. Some of the things I miss about not having my husband anymore are so silly but touch my heart. I miss his kisses, not sharing an apple with him, his smirk when I do something silly, looking for a western when I go rent a dvd, shopping in the men's department, having a companion when I go somewhere, warm feet next to my cold feet at night, I could go on and on. Thanks for listening.

On-line meetings, Been There, Done That!

I no longer belong to the employed sector. BUT, while I was working I participated in several on-line meetings. It really did save a lot of time and money. The meeting would last for one hour but where I lived it took me one day to get to the meeting, then I would spend the night there, and of course the company would pay for lodging and meals. So it was in the best interest of the company to provide on-line meetings. I did try to look at some archived meetings but my computer is having issues so I'm not going there right now.

I know webinars are great but I still prefer attending an educational workshop in person. I guess I just like having people around me and I stay focused better.

It's kinda, sorta Monday!

Some days just don't feel like the day they really are. Take today. Yesterday was Monday but to me, today is Monday so I'll be messed up all week. Not only is it Monday but I have no clue what the date is without looking at the calendar. When I was working full time I always knew what date and day it was. Guess it really doesn't matter as long as I get to where I need to be at the designated time I'm supposed to be there.

I thought when I quit work I wouldn't have a need for a pocket calendar. If at all possible, I need one more than ever. There are doctor appointments (seem to be more the older I get), grandchildren's programs, grandchildren's sports events, birthday get-togethers, volunteer stuff, and just meeting for coffee. Oh well! Life is good no matter what day it may be!

My Trashy Reads!

Went to the ETC Shop (a used clothing or used everything shop) and of course I found some books I had to buy. I have a closet full of books that eventually I will read but I am saving them for days when I can't get to the library. I really haven't figured out when that will be but as the saying goes "That's my story and I'm sticking to it"!

I'm not one for tear jerking stories but enjoy blood-and-guts, a little sex is also good. When I read, I read to entertain myself with trash, you know, the reading you don't have to go back and read that page again because it is so deep books. I've done the deep reads and now just want to enjoy. I think everyone should take a break and read non-thinking books. They are good for the soul!

Yes, my first blog!

I am retired and I NEED to keep learning technology. That was the one thing I was worried about when I retired that I would be left behind in this technology age. Soooo, here is my first!
